The New York Real Estate Taxes and School Districts, Proposal 5, also known as Proposal 5, was on the ballot in New York on November 5, 1985, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The measure amended "Article VII, Section 10, of the State Constitution repealing the limitation on the amount to be raised through real estate taxes by certain school districts."[1]
