North Dakota Debt Limit of Political Subdivisions Referendum (1920)
The North Dakota Debt Limit of Political Subdivisions Referendum was on the March 16, 1920 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved.[1]
The measure set a debt limit for counties, townships, cities, towns, school districts and any other political subdivisions. The debt of these entities could not exceed of five percent of the assessed value of taxable property within them. This maximum could be exceeded after being voted upon.[2]
