The North Dakota Second Election for Initiatives Amendment did not make the November 2012 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment.
The proposed measure would have given the legislature the authority to put revised initiatives back on the ballot for another vote, as well as initiatives that were previously rejected.[1]
The proposed measure was introduced by Sen. John Andrist and Reps. Mike Schatz, Al Carlson, Joe Heilman and Robert Skarphol.
According to state laws in 2011, the legislature could not change a voter-approved initiative for seven years without a two-thirds vote.[1]

According to the North Dakota Constitution an amendment proposed by either the House or the Senate required only majority approval.
As of March 30, 2011 the measure failed to gain approval.[2]
