The North Dakota Salaries of Public Officials Referendum, also known as Amendment 8, was on the September 5, 1978 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated.[1] The measure would have made all fees and profits arising from any of the offices whose salaries were prescribed by law be deposited in the state treasury.[2]
