We are well known for introducing new cutting edge trains into all of our UK rail franchises and for having created one of the largest fleets of electric buses and bus charging depots in the UK. In addition to procuring new trains and buses, we are investing significant resources to improve the passenger experience of those using our services.

Transport UK’s leadership team understands the important role transport networks and infrastructure play in connecting communities and society, as well as enabling mobility.
We are driving environmental progress through a comprehensive carbon reduction plan which will make us a net zero-carbon business by 2038. We are leading industry efforts in areas including electrifying the rail network, expanding the use of zero and low emission buses and utilising smart energy management technology across our stations.
We want to play a leading role in creating a fully integrated public transport system which provides effective, sustainable end-to-end services for our passengers. Our focus on passengers and their evolving needs is the reason we provide free Wi-Fi and charging points on our vehicles. We are also working with telecoms providers to install 5G masts along key routes, providing both our passengers and local communities with enhanced connectivity.
To better serve passengers and the broader community, we partner with commissioning bodies, local councils and metro mayors to integrate our train and bus services with the broader transport network and make it as easy as possible for people to use public transport as part of their daily lives.
