Twenty one years ago Irish Cycling Safaris
pioneered cycling holidays in Ireland. Our philosophy continues
to be to create easy going to moderate cycling trips along
rural backroads bringing us into the heart of the great outdoors
and local cultures. Over the years we have entertained thousands
of cyclists, many of whom have returned to explore a different
part of the country as we have added new Safaris. Despite
the company’s growth to become one of the leading activity
holiday providers in Ireland, we have maintained the same
approach to our tours as that first excursion in 1989.
The cornerstone of Irish Cycling Safaris
has been our commitment to provide quality tours at reasonable
prices, whilst encouraging sustainable tourism. We were winners
in 1995 of a Conservation Volunteers, Environmental Endeavor
award, in 1996 of a National Tourism Enterprise award and
in 2003 of an “An Taisce” ( Irelands National Trust ) award
for our work in sustainable tourism. This ethical approach
to business has been taken to its logical conclusion by the
company’s founder, Eamon Ryan, who is now one of the first
Green Ministers in an Irish Government. A long way since he
founded Irish Cycling Safaris in 1989!
Our full time team is based in Ireland and
made up of John & Marion Gaskin, Claire Concannon and
Sonja Fuhrmann. Over the years, we have been joined by a team
of guides from different parts of the country who come back
each summer to lead our tours. Most importantly, we hope to
set the right tone to help you in whatever way possible so
that every day you are free to escape from everything except
your own daydreams. You can rely on our experience to relax
and unwind. Let us take all the hassles out of your holiday
whilst leaving in all the adventure!
