'Eden Lake' presents itself as a transparent, everyday horror, but make no mistake: it grabs you and drags you into a downward spiral of senseless violence. Being so close, it's hard to stay indifferent to the movie. The intensity of certain scenes can really upset you. Once you've seen it, you can't forget it. We are almost 10 years later but I don't need to review it to be honest. Love it when you are surprised in such a way. And a thumbs up to the writers for the brutality to the end. Leave you completely dazed.

“Follow the blood!”

Horrible. After Martyrs I thought no other movie could make me feel so sick to my stomach, but Eden Lake tries its best. You should not watch this movie if you want to see a "fun" horror movie, because this is really another horror movie that makes you lose faith in humanity a little bit more.

It's the well-known snowball effect, with a small disagreement that is getting more and more out of hand. With a fitting (gloomy) ending, which also makes it clear that upbringing, and what kind of environment you grew up in, plays a major role in what kind of person you eventually become. Not everyone will become a psycho the same way, but in Brett's case they will. At the expense of Fassbender and Kelly Reilly.

Quite a fine thriller about derailed loiterers who terrorize a young couple. How idyllic it all starts, how quickly the dream turns into a nightmare. A film with the necessary coincidences and a number of things that seem illogical and do not always correspond with reality. Still, I'm very pleased with the overall approach and plot of the film.

Not a total metamorphosis from a lovely lady to a vengeful femme fatale. None I Spit on Your Grave (2010). Her fears and moral compass fail. Or not quite. Everything revolves around survival and seeking help in the civilized world.

The horror was okay. Although I understood the man that he was not going to be messed with, although this would never occur to me. Not with unpredictable people you don't know or can estimate. The ending was also interesting. Coincidentally again, but such raw films simply don't need a happy ending.
