Less sequel.

Still finished part 2 of the five part series, (perhaps a sixth soon). Beckinsale will also be 45 years old soon, I don't think she will be in the tight suit in the series for much longer, but maybe she will again.

What goes wrong in this part is the CGI. it all looked pretty ugly, except for a few nice and stylish action scenes, so the first part definitely wins. Action scene with the truck on the road looked like Sharknado level.

It also lacks a bit of the scenes that reminded me of The Matrix, just think of the opening scene of Underworld itself. This level is no longer achieved in the film, and then only a large dose of Fantasy remains.

Sometimes quite entertaining and fortunately also a bit more clumsy than part 1, but it doesn't score enough with me.

On to part 2, after fifteen minutes I came to the conclusion that I had never checked this one before, that this film started at the same time as the first and it certainly hasn't gotten any better.

And this Underworld also gets going again with an intro that is perhaps well thought out and nicely situated, but seems to run past several times, especially the special effects that seem quite bad and the much too fast and chaotic editing that I noted in part 1. A rather perfunctory story then arises with ancestors, the reason for the whole situation in the first place and the will of Markus to free William, why is not really clear to me by the way. Selena merrily saunters through again with one of the weaker links Speedmann on her heels. The lucky guy, however, is allowed to finish a totally unnecessary sex scene with Beckinsale, the type of unnecessary scene such as the harrowing scene between Reeves and Moss in Matrix 2.

Every now and then, however, the film springs from the terms mediocre and average. Including the fight on the truck, the final fight between Selena and Markus and the generally dark and beautiful atmosphere. It is certainly not enough to give this film a very good grade. In addition, it will also play a role that the genre in particular does not really appeal to me. It is therefore a 3.0, and quite narrow as far as I'm concerned.
