Vernon Sewell's Curse of the Crimson Altar was still passable, but this 'Blood Beast Terror' is simply boring.
As always, Peter Cushing puts his best foot forward, but even he can't help the fact that his character comes across as a bit dusty. Unfortunately, Robert Flemyng's character isn't much better.
Wanda Ventham still provides some feminine beauty, but otherwise fails to create a memorable character.
In addition, the denouement and the reveal of the monster are very weak. Far from terrifying. The idea of a kind of moth monster may be quite original, but far from scary.
There are a lot of better creature features on the market than this. As far as I'm concerned, this can be skipped. Maybe it's just something for Peter Cushing fans, but nothing more than that.

okay, not his best film by this actor, but not bad. the horror content was reasonable, in the beginning it looked more like the old hammer dracula films, the carriage driving on a dark road illuminated by the somewhat hazy moonlight and the red letters that is typical for this type of horror films and for the years. Just like the Dracula films, it happens in the night, a scream, a death cry, someone is murdered and the witnesses also suffer the same fate as the victim. So far a great beginning and opening, but a pity the film suddenly tells who is and if you are used to watching TV series and detective films then you really shouldn't look any further, of course you could be wrong? but as the film continues, the one you see in the beginning becomes very suspicious and all the mystery surrounding the film has disappeared and that is a shame. Still worth 3 stars for the actor
