Awesome. That's how I like to see the 80's (summer camp) slasher's. Atmospheric, entertaining, good make-up, some humor, very good kills with those hedge trimmers (!) and babbling, ignorant teenagers who are slowly but surely being destroyed. And Carrick Glen, that shower scene.. always fun. Very nice video.

After this only one of the classic slashers to go. The Burning delivers, of course, is all very similar to Friday the 13th, but possibly surpasses all parts in that series.

Why did we ever stop making these kind of simple, but effective horror movies. Nice kills and nice FX by master Tom Savini, without all kinds of unnecessary CGI.

Fine.

I definitely prefer The Burning over films like Friday the 13th. The Burning is not only better performed, but also smoother and more entertaining. Both films share a bit of the same concept, but this one is really a bit more successful. I had little trouble sitting out the minutes.

Acting is mediocre, but it's nice to see a lot of familiar faces who later went on to have great careers. Just think of Holly Hunter seeing you skipping past here. It does make the film a bit more interesting, but also as a whole it is regularly an entertaining film that does not last too long.

It takes a long time for the killing to kick in and with a movie like this you can't escape some sloppy mistakes, but it's actually somehow smoother and more entertaining than similar films. It just excites. And not because of a brilliant performance, but simply because of the content itself, which is very entertaining.

I can't say The Burning is a typical slasher, as the kills are quite scarce. As far as I know there is only 1 real attack like this on the middle of the water, and a few small kills in between. Whoever thinks that the entire cast will be finished is wrong, there is still a lot of life left.

The murders are nicely decorated, but you also have that if you have Savini at your disposal. For example, there are a number of nice wounds and the killer himself also looks special although you only see him well in the final phase. Furthermore, a few small tricks are applied and in general this film sticks just fine slightly above the average slasher.

It just entertains that little bit better and lasts only a minute over an hour and a half. The Burning is a smooth slasher. Bad acting and a cheap look, but slightly cheaper and some fairly unparalleled scenes in between. I got through it fine, nothing wrong with it.
