"One touch is all it takes."
A family consisting of a mother and her twin sons have been tormented by a malevolent spirit for years. One day, one of the boys begins to doubt the existence of evil, which causes the family's sacred bond to be broken. Soon this leads to a dangerous fight for survival.

Mediocre thriller/horror film. The story is quite nice but the execution is very variable. The beginning is quite hard to get through and the jump scares and horror moments feel very forced. Halfway through the level rises a bit and a reasonable mystery actually arises. Too bad that Aja doesn't make a choice at the end and leaves the viewer with a question mark, while a nice twist seems to be there for the taking. The acting is otherwise fine, especially from the two youngsters. Visually reasonable but not top. 3.0

A mother [Halle Berry] and her sons Nolan [Percy Daggs IV] and Samuel [Anthony B. Jenkins] stay in a cabin in the middle of the jungle where 'The Evil' [Stephanie Lavigne] is constantly lurking. 'The Evil' can take on different forms and all it takes is one touch to put the entire family in mortal danger. Nolan and Samuel can only go outside with a rope around their waist that is tied to the house. Clearly inspired by A Quiet Place, but not quite a rip-off because it has a few surprises in store. Aja shoots his own glass in the foot by revealing 'The Evil' in the prologue and relying more on CGI effects in the melodramatic denouement. The final twist can hardly be called surprising.

Never let Go a film with in my opinion a much too low score! The atmosphere is good and the boys act quite well. The storyline is interesting enough. Fine film.
