Cheerful and entertaining film that is perhaps just a bit too long and contains a bit too much music, but apart from that a film that is more than worth watching for young and old.
The film actually consists of 2 parts, the first hour is mainly about the life of Caractacus Potts and his children and only on the beach they go over to the fantasy world. Very nicely done, because of this slow way building up also gives the viewer a better bond with the characters and this is often what I find missing in modern films.
The different worlds they end up in are very beautifully made and the dance scenes are very well done!
Without a doubt a film that I will see in the future, it is a long sitting but cheerful and light-hearted entertainment with a top feel-good.

Almost 50 years old musical family film that still works.
It's a pity that after the charm of the first hour, the film sinks into cliché slapstick stuff.
Of course there is the likeable Dick Van Dyke, wildly popular at the time and in demand for such films and also Benny Hill, equally popular for his TV shows, but rarely seen in a full-length and there is even Barbara Windsor, for those who are familiar with the "carry on" films, who cannot resist a classic slightly burnt comment in her short participation.
Not to mention that the film is also quite enjoyable cinematically, but that the music and the songs, although nominated for Oscars, did not yield an unforgettable experience.

Super movie! My hero Dick van Dyke has done an excellent job again in this film.
