"Things Are Gonna Get Hairy!"
There is a secret war going on that people know nothing about: the eternal battle between the dogs and the cats. The cats plan to destroy a new vaccine. This vaccine will cure all human allergies to dogs.

Like Cat and Dog was always one of our favorite movies at home, so to me this is pure childhood sentiment. After all these years, I actually knew the whole movie from front to back.
After all these years it is noticeable that many CGI effects are quite dated and in the original version there is some bland humor. The Dutch version has much nicer dialogues and in particular the voice of Mr. Tinkels and the cats come into their own much better there.
It is also partly a kind of live-action cartoon. Continuous the slapstic sound effects and stretch and morph through CGI. The CGI may be dated, but Tinkels' animatronic was very well made and still looks great.
Surprisingly, the film is unsatisfactory. I can remember that this movie was very popular among my peers at the time and my parents even think it's a nice movie. In addition, it is also one of the better animal films, yet clearly higher level than the Buddy films and the like. Admittedly, the English voices and cartoon humor in particular are a bit bland, but what do you expect from an American film. The Dutch dub is genuinely very funny. I used to find it strange that cats and dogs fight against each other because we have both a cat and a dog that never fight. I secretly liked the cats much better in the past.
Entertaining James Bond parody with cats and dogs. Very nice movie for children.

Lame.
Indeed, a kind of James Bond parody where animals are now in the spotlight instead of people. That is still a pretty funny concept, but at the same time it is not much better developed than the average youth film.
The dogs and cats look wooden in their action scenes, and that's going to be quite noticeable at some point. Fortunately, the animals in general are sometimes comical and the parody-like scenes are sometimes nice and refreshing.
For the rest, this is nothing special, the finale is a bit more spectacular, but in the end this remains a youth film full of rather bland humor. It sure is smooth, but can you call it good? It is visually too ugly for that and the jokes often a bit too bland.
