Slow and above all vague, this beautifully shot but deadly dull film about Sir Gawain, King Arthur's reckless and headstrong cousin. The start can still go on and the cast is fine, but it soon becomes clear that this is a case of style over substance, and then quite pretentious too. Director David Lowery continues to deliver unusual and unpredictable films, but in this case I would have preferred to skip.

Possibly the most original movie I saw this year. Wonderful play of story, cinematography, editing and music. I also thought for a moment that Jonny Greenwood was at work again in terms of score, partly because of the clear classical influences (with the addition of organ at the end), but apparently not: the credits go to Daniel Hart. I really liked the scene in which Vikander fakes her own marriage proposal as Essel. In the style, the wide-angle 360 degrees shot in the forest may be mentioned, back and forth, very special. Too bad I missed this one in the cinema, because that's what the movie is for. Now the dark tones didn't come across as nice. I can't say that I was completely sucked into it, but that could also have been due to the circumstances. The green knight is definitely in my top 10 this year and David Lowery is one to keep an eye on.
