Manon plot
Manon (Cécile Aubry) is chased by savage villagers who want to lynch her for alleged collaboration with the Nazis. She is rescued in the nick of time by former resistance fighter Robert Dégrieux (Michel Auclair). They move to Paris and have a tempestuous relationship, but problems arise when they become involved in gambling winnings, prostitution and murder. Adapted from Abbé Prévost's classic French novel 'Manon Lescout'.
