Moartea Domnului Lazarescu plot
The 63-year-old widower and alcoholic Dante Remus Lazarescu already has his name on it, but it is the astonishingly failing and dehumanized Romanian health care system that really lands him in Dante's inferno. Lazarescu, living alone with his three cats, calls an ambulance as a precaution when he feels unwell one evening. What follows is an hour-long journey through hospitals filled with overtired and unempathetic doctors and misdiagnoses as life fades from the increasingly ill man.
