And what did I think of it:

A real road movie and I like it anyway. Especially when it comes to a beautiful fact as in this film. Of course the reason is quite simple, but the relationship between son and father is highlighted so beautifully. The drama about a father who doesn't have long to live and who wants to have business between him and his son spoken out on his last trip, even though he pretends not to. 2 Guys who are directly opposite each other and therefore look more alike than they would like you to believe. And then the beautiful role of the personal assistant / nurse who is caught in between. Sometimes you forget why they started this trip in particular. Ed Harris, Jason Sudeikis and Elizabeth Olsen play the stars of heaven. And if you also see how beautifully it has been filmed, you automatically have a gem. I really enjoyed this film, I like the layers in the characters and you quickly get sucked into the story. (I do) Highly recommended.

Particularly worth it because of the character Ed Harris portrays, a character who is bigger than the meager plot.
Unfortunately I had a little more hope for this, but the story around Jason Sudeikis and Elizabeth Olsen was nowhere interesting and took the momentum out of the film.
The scene at the end when she just walks in was of course completely sweet and super predictable, we've never seen that before?

But apart from those irritation points, it was quite enjoyable for 1 time. This is mainly thanks to Ed Harris and the footage from the road trip itself.

2.5*

At the start I thought let's do a road movie bingo: romantic line: check, classic means of transport: check, impossible family relationships: check. Okay, this is lame. A genre film according to the booklet, but especially in the 2nd part kodachrome gets a bit more depth, which makes it quite a nice film. What appeals to me most is the musical storyline. And the humor is also good to digest.
