Kos plot
The spring of 1794. General Tadeusz 'Kos' Kosciuszko returns to Poland. He plans to start an uprising against the Russians and mobilizes the Polish nobility and peasants to do so. He is accompanied by a loyal friend and former slave, Domingo, and a ruthless Russian captain, Dunin, who wants to capture the general at all costs before he causes a national uprising. At the same time, a young farmer, Ignac, dreams of receiving his weapon and property from his illegitimate noble parent, Duchnowski, who includes him in his will just before his death.

Big winner of the Polish Film Festival in almost all categories and, in my opinion, already the film of the year! In the reviews he is called the Polish Tarantino. The link is quickly made in terms of time period, violence and characters. The main character General Tadeusz Kościuszko has just returned as a hero of the American Revolution and his buddy, the ex-slave Domingo, operate as a Dr. Schultz and Django, so to speak. Only even more brutal and determined. Historically speaking, it's not entirely correct. For example, Kościuszko was back in Poland in 1784 and had already been involved in previous uprisings. But who cares...
I missed director Pawel Maślona's call just before the parliamentary elections to also rise up against the repressive PiS regime and the apparently subtle references in the film.
