Gilbert Gonzalez feels isolated from the world. He is 39, a virgin, obese and lives with his sarcastic, overprotective mother, who owns a mansion in Manhattan. Afraid of life and people, but hungry for human contact, Gilbert secretly takes pictures of women whenever and wherever he can. And then Jana comes to rent a room in the building and she becomes the source of countless fantasies. Jana is a contradiction; beautiful but haunted by her own insecurities, which keep her from resisting her ex-boyfriend Tony, an Iraq war veteran with post-traumatic disorder. Gilbert dreams of saving Jana, but doesn't believe she can ever love him, especially when she knows about all the secret photos.
