Home of the Brave plot
"The final test of courage is coming home."
A war doctor returns home after several months on the Iraqi front. But his family, friends and especially his wife no longer recognize him. With him many soldiers return from battle, each with its own problems to return to 'normal' society.

Failed.
Been sitting in my closet for a long time and finally got myself to turn it on yesterday. With, in my view, a successful opening scene, the film falls three times below the level and then the ''home battle'' is filmed. Painful dialogues and even more painful acting performances. After 45 minutes I wanted to stop the film to stop this painful gift, in the face of respect for the cast. I can't explain exactly what I didn't like about it, I just thought it was bad. For example the scene where the father in the garage tries to calm his son down... Painful with a capital P. It was such a standard emotional outburst and very inappropriate. I even had to laugh about it (also about Samuel Jackson when he disrupts his family dinner .) Anyway, I'm tired of it, but unfortunately not turned around.
1 star for the effort and the opening scene that was above average for a movie like this.

Making a good war film will never work again, but if you do start doing it, do something original with plot, characters and especially style. But it's all so standard What remains is drama from an average RTL 4 film and bad acting by some established names.

Just seen.
Sometimes a bit long winded and very predictable.
If you like action, don't watch this movie.
Personally, I thought the movie was average. Not a bad film, but not one that belongs to the top of this genre either.
Winkler's aim seems to me to reflect what the war leaves behind in soldiers and that they all deal with it in different ways. And he succeeded.
S. Jackson always looks away for me. Biel and 50, two actors that normally annoy me, were surprising in this film.
