Desire under the Elms plot
Ephraim Cabot (Burl Ives) is an old, healthy man with two wives and two sons who owns a farm in New England. When his wives die, son Eben (Perkins) of one of his wives, is most bitter and wonders who will get his mother's portion, which includes a portion of the farm. When the old man takes a new bride, Anna, along, she also wants a share of the farm.
