Biala Odwaga plot
"United by passion, divided by betrayal."
Late 1930s in the Podhale region of the Tatra Mountains in Poland. Andrzej is a talented mountain climber. His lover, Bronka, is assigned to his eldest brother, the serious Maciek, by a family decision. The proud Andrzej then leaves his birthplace to seek oblivion in Krakow. Along the way he meets the German anthropologist and mountaineer Wolfram, who has a theory that the population of the high mountains is descended from an ancient Germanic tribe. When war breaks out, Andrzej and Maciek are pitted against each other in a conflict that will decide not only their personal fates, but the future of the entire region.

What a dizzying rollercoaster to fall into MovieMeter terminology. Director Marcin Koszalka keeps up the momentum, slows down and increases the pace and tension even further. To my knowledge, the first film about the adventures of the Górale, the Highlanders of the Tatra Mountains, during the Second World War. A strange and unknown episode. Strangely enough, the striking face of Joachim Assböck in the role of Hans Frank, the butcher of Poland, gives a familiar feeling. So, and then the evening performance of The Zone of Interest to relax (or not?)
