Jenn [Jenny Roth] and Sol [Hary Shum Jr.] really do have everything they could wish for, and they look like models too! The world is smiling on them (a little too emphatically), so it's a shame that Sol soon turns out to be seriously ill. At no point does it seem that this young couple has any idea of a frugal existence, let alone poverty, but it turns out that crowdfunding is needed to give these spoiled kids their dream wedding.

The story is unbearably sentimental and should have made for a terrible film, but Roth and Sum are a nice couple and screenwriter Todd Rosenburg adds a pleasant, self-deprecating humor that makes you sympathize with this tragic couple. Until that terrible final scene.

Despite the tragic ending, I have a good feeling about this drama, which mainly emphasizes romance and manages to avoid sentimental pitfalls. The positive atmosphere – mainly thanks to the contribution of Jessica Rothe – makes the film less painful than you would expect beforehand.

For a cinema it has too little depth I think.... Beautiful story, beautifully played... But the tragic scenes are almost all left out... it is now mainly romantic, almost too sweet, too happy.... How are things with work, study, finances, housing, relationships, do those relationships have no problems? No differences of opinion etc.....
