Znachor plot
Professor Wilczur, whose wife and beloved daughter have left, takes refuge in alcohol. He is seriously injured in the head during a fight in a suburban tavern and loses his memory. The once-respected surgeon who lost his family and memory gets a chance at redemption when he reconnects with someone from his forgotten past.

Psychological drama about a successful doctor who loses not only his family but also his memory. The second part in particular is an emotional rollercoaster. A layered, atmospheric film with the heterogeneous life of Christians and Jews in the Polish countryside during the interwar period in the background. The direction, the acting and the settings make this film a gem. Very sensitive and beautiful.

It's all a bit long-winded, the characters don't interest me.
especially the story of the Count and Marysia makes no sense and has nothing to do with the film
the film would have been good for 90 minutes and not longer at all.
