The Tall Headlines plot
A family is torn apart when their oldest son is hanged for the murder of a young girl. George and Mary Rackham try to erase the memory of their eldest son Ronnie and the horrific attention of the neighbors by moving and changing their family name. However, their children, Philip and Frankie, struggle to adjust to normal family life without their executed brother. When Philip falls in love with the blond temptress, Doris, he begins to think his dead brother has returned and fears for his own sanity.
