Shinkû Chitai plot

In the winter of 1944, soldier Kitani returns to his unit in Osaka after a two-year absence. Although they were told that Kitani was in hospital, his mates welcomed him with reserve and suspicion. Kitani struggles with his secret, because during this time he has actually been in prison on a charge of theft with a superior. Because his private life is also under pressure and after a confession to a soldier friend, the rest of his unit also finds out that he has not been in the hospital, the psychological pressure becomes too much for Kitani.
