Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll plot
"There are a couple of ways to avoid death....one is to be magnificent"
'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' is about the life of British pop singer Ian Dury, the frontman of Ian Dury & The Blockheads. Born in 1942, Ian Dury was struck by polio at the age of seven when he went swimming in contaminated water and became partially paralyzed. Against all odds, he later becomes one of the pillars of the punk rock scene in England in the 1970s, thus becoming the anti-hero of the punk generation. He founds the band the Blockheads, with which he scored his first big hit in 1978; one that says in less than three minutes what music is all about: Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.
