“I can't exist by myself because I'm afraid of myself, because I'm the maker of my own evil.”

Original, absurd and very strange horror film by Zulawski. Possession lives up to its name, because just like the characters, you as a viewer are slowly completely absorbed by some plot developments and the intense acting of actress Isabelle Adjani. The tunnel scene will stay with me for a long time.

Some viewers will find Adjani's acting hysterical, but I think the entire film is almost brilliant. That can't be said of Sam Neill's acting, but he certainly wasn't bad. Possession has to rely on a few iconic scenes, because the story is vague and didn't really appeal to me. But the ending makes up for a lot.

Beautiful cover! I saw this classic a few days ago and let it sink in....

Very difficult to judge about this, but that's because I want to understand the film as a whole myself....but unfortunately I can't. The story is just too bizarre and vague to dig into how the fork actually works. Yes, you have your own vision of the story and certain scenes you can form your idea, but it all remains quite abstract. Isabelle Adjani's acting is magnificent, especially the scene in the metro is one to frame. In any case, an interesting film with a special atmosphere that is not for everyone. Maybe I expected a little too much from it. 6/10

"I got possessed by Possession."

What the film does very well is that it takes you completely into the awkwardness, the ignorance and the atmosphere. It's uncomfortable from the start. You don't know what's going on and the story gets weirder by the minute. Wonderful camera work too. That shot at the beginning with Neill in that office. Also good acting. Neill showing with minor nuances that he is going crazy at the idea that his beloved has someone else. Adjani who wants to tell what's going on, but actually doesn't. In the long run a lot of yelling back and forth, but that fits perfectly in what the director wants to convey to the viewer.
