"Some things take faith. Some things take courage. Saving a tradition takes both."

Trey Caldwell (Nathan Gamble) receives a soapbox kit from his father as a gift. Shortly after they begin assembling the soapbox, Caldwell's father dies during the war in Afghanistan. Trey meets Roy Gibbs (Corbin Bernsen), together they finish the soapbox to compete in the Soap Box Derby race in Akron, Ohio.
