Homopesten plot

In 'Gay Bullies' Frans Bromet paints a shocking picture of homophobia in the Netherlands. Since mayor Wolfsen of Utrecht got into a fight with a gay couple who was a victim of gay bullying, the Netherlands has been enriched with two hotlines for gay discrimination. Hundreds of reports of bullying and physical violence against gays and lesbians have been made to both hotlines. The shocking stories of homophobia in this documentary show that perpetrators of bullying are often neighbors. When victims report to the police, their story is dismissed as a neighbor dispute. Gay discrimination is a crime and punishable, but neighbor disputes are not. The bullies usually go free. Mayor Wolfsen's underestimation of the phenomenon of homosexual discrimination turns out not to be an incident but the tip of the iceberg.
