We Come as Friends plot
The creator of Darwin's Nightmare returns to Africa to portray contemporary colonialism. He uses a self-built flying machine to visit places in South Sudan to hear the stories of residents. As the new country, led by the feared president Omar al-Bashir, slowly but surely moves into war, a procession of foreign investors searches for opportunities to exploit the territory under the guise of civilizing. The filmmaker visits, among other things, a Chinese oil company, which pollutes the water source through drilling. In another village, Texan missionaries have taken care of the inhabitants, who are persuaded to wear clothes after all.
