Andrew Callaghan made a name for himself on Instagram. He worked as a doorman in the entertainment district of New Orleans and at 2 a.m. asked drunken passers-by to reveal their deepest secrets. In this documentary he looks back on the period from the American Presidential elections on November 3, 2020, until the storming of Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021. He does not belong to the so-called 'mainstream media' and that means that he can speak to both left-wing and right-wing demonstrators – moderate and extreme – can speak to. He moves among the demonstrators, even when things get out of hand, and paints a remarkably nuanced picture of what preceded it, without passing judgment on “ordinary” Americans. An absolute must for anyone who wants to understand as best as possible why the situation got so out of hand on January 6, 2021.
