Le Soleil des Voyous plot
Denis Ferrand, an aging French ex-gangster and currently owner of the Domino cafe, is bored with civilian life. He also owns an auberge and a car garage. He persuades an old American friend to participate in a major heist. The target is the contents of the bank's vault just opposite his cafe.

Nice film in which an ex-gangster decides to rob a bank together with an old friend. A well-constructed heist film in which the preparation, the heist itself and the handling are extensively depicted with here and there a fairly violent outburst. It never gets really exciting and it is sometimes a bit far-fetched.

Strong French film noir with Gabin who does a great 'theater act' with opponent Stack who does a good job. The whole thing revolves around a last moment of euphoria of a criminal who wants to retire but wants to strike one last blow. A 3rd party Lee makes Gabin's statement come true. Well thought out, good structure, for now a bit dated, but for its time a good film.
