The Street with No Name plot
"Counter Attack!"
FBI agent Cordell is tasked by his boss to infiltrate Alec Stiles' gang. He participates in a robbery, which the criminals must get into the hands of the police. Unfortunately, there is a traitor at the police station and Cordell's life is uncertain.

I really liked this one, especially Widmark is really good in this role. What a fine actor in those noirs.
Furthermore, it is a noir that is nicely built up and told quickly, but towards the end it ends a bit too simple. That is always a shame.

A clever scenario in a clever direction.
Story never falls into improbabilities, is nicely balanced and knows how to captivate. The ending is classic, but also well portrayed.
Great performances. Richard Widmark is a perfect "hard" and leader in crime.
The film was said to have been filmed as much as possible at the locations cited and to have been able to call on FBI members.
A very good film noir, even without the traditional femme fatale.

Widmark is once again in great form as the bad guy that you as a viewer really start to detest.
Furthermore, the story is exciting and entertaining until the very last moment.
Thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful crime noir from the old box.
