He is the leader of a dangerous biker gang. She is a prostitute who will do anything to get her freedom back. They meet while he is on the run, and together they escape a bloody gang war. Starting scene
After meeting the villain and the prostitute, it slowly becomes clear why all the mystery at that station is now necessary. Nice find.

The story doesn't get very exciting after that, but almost every scene is beautiful. Scooter gangsters provide action in this action film based on beautiful images. The poster already reveals that the neon lights and the play of light and dark are perhaps the most spectacular elements of this film. Visual highlights for me include the “neon feet”, the “shadow running on stairs”.
Final scene
In terms of story, I don't find it very surprising or stimulating, although the ending is excellent: that really stimulates the imagination!

Artistic powerhouse.
To get straight to the point; The Wild Goose Lake is a feast for the eyes. This film production may not have much substance, but everything is more than straightened out by the stunning visual efforts of the filmmakers. Many cameramen will agree that it must be a wet dream to be able to work on such a film. Practically every scene is a small work of art.
We didn't know that so much beauty could come from Wuhan. After all, the world knows this Chinese metropolis as the epicenter of the terrible Corona crisis. Here the director uses this environment to create his impressive shadow play, as the nighttime flight of a criminal is depicted. Everything was deliberately thought out, including Neo-noir. In the past - in black and white times - people called something like that a crime film.
Despite the artistic powerhouse, there is also criticism. Because quite a few vague characters are introduced and due to the special storytelling method, not everything is always clear. It sometimes takes you out of your rhythm as a viewer. Luminous soles and Boney M. cannot change that. In fact, it offers so much distraction that you gradually become numb. Despite all good intentions and double layers.

Chinese neo-noir, very beautifully shot, I absolutely agree. For me it was the scene with those light-up shoes that made an impression. Zhou, a member of a gang of thieves, accidentally kills a police officer and seals his fate. He meets a prostitute who wants to discreetly unite him with his wife, who is being watched by the police. When the authorities offer a huge sum of money that could lead to the arrest, it remains to be seen whether Zhou Zenong can trust anyone. There isn't much violence, but when it does come it is brutal. The thin story and the ditto developed characters are somewhat disappointing, with the result that the film has its boring moments; I expected a little more from that because this was a film with a lot of potential for a masterpiece.
