Mannenharten plot
The story of six urban men in a gym, at a turning point in their lives. They are looking for their place in life and the one they want by their side. Connected by the hours when they work up a sweat, we all get to know them. For example the shy type, looking for a woman for life. Or the man who has been occupied for years, but is panicked by his impending fatherhood.

Don't really understand all the negative reactions.. It's a feel-good film; everything falls in the right place, the film looks nice and easy. But isn't that exactly what you expect from a romantic comedy?

The Dutch Love Actually number 493. Once again we follow different storylines side by side and again they are connected in one way or another. This time not by family, but by acquaintances in a gym.
Well executed in any case; that may be said. There are some nice moments in it, but the unfortunate thing is that most of them can be seen in the trailer. In addition, a big problem with this film is that one story is much more interesting than the other. The one by Jeroen Spitzenberger and Katja Herbers is actually the best and the one about Georgina Verbaan, Teun Kuilboer and Fabian Jansen was also reasonably successful. On the other hand, I did not find the storylines of Daan Schuurmans and Barry Atsma interesting. They seemed rather uninspired to me and didn't seem to add much.
Furthermore, the aforementioned 'fun moments' don't really deliver laughter either, but are rather good for a chuckle. Not a disaster in itself, but it's not a particularly good sign for a film like this. The end result is a film that leaves me with mixed feelings. On the one hand it is nice, on the other hand there are much better romantic comedies. I do have the feeling that people have sincerely tried to make something fun out of it, but it seems to have only partly succeeded.

Man hearts
Well, men's hearts. A Dutch rom-com, with everything that goes with it. The better stealing work, mediocre acting (not everyone), sentimental music and of course Amsterdam as a location (because Amsterdam is the Netherlands and vice versa...). Men's Hearts has its fun moments and some storylines do work. Everything with Georgina Verbaan, Spitzenberger, Jansen and Kuilboer works well, but there are Barry Atsma and Daan Schuurmans on the other hand, who are acting like wooden blocks. The fact that they have been assigned the largest roles does not really work in the favor of Men's Hearts.
