Helpmates plot
Ollie throws a wild party and the next morning his house is a mess. He admonishes himself in the mirror. After receiving a telegram that his wife will be home unexpectedly sooner, he panics and asks Stan to help clean up the mess. He shouldn't have done that. They make more rather than less mess.

Helpmates was the first black and white film that was later colored in, something that was (unfortunately) done more after that. Probably to attract a new audience that was no longer used to black and white films. Or because the lack of color was seen as a defect rather than the necessary charm. But I've just seen Helpmates in the original version.
This is from the glory days of Laurel & Hardy. The film hovers between tape work and the charisma between the two comedians. Fans will definitely enjoy this one, we get enough of the familiar humor.
