"MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!"
A young man from a small town enlists in the navy during WWII. He is dismissed because of his persistent hay fever, but does not dare to return to his mother. He is ashamed that he has not experienced anything. Along the way, he meets some ex-colleagues with whom he befriends. They decide to save his honor by going with him and donning him a uniform full of medals. The town immediately welcomes him as a hero, including a statue, but the young man is only really ashamed now.
