Chalet Girl plot

"How to marry a billionaire."

The cheerful Kim (Felicity Jones) seems like an ordinary girl, but she is indeed a skateboarding champion. Due to family circumstances, she has to exchange her sports career for a boring job and care for her father. She dreams of doing something new and exciting and decides to take a course to become a hostess. Adventure smiles on her when she gets the chance to work in a beautiful chalet in the Alps. In her spare hours Kim learns to snowboard, she turns out to have a lot of talent for it. Sporty as she is, Kim wants to participate in the competition at the end of the season. She has a good chance of winning with her spectacular board moves and the prize money is too good to be true. But then she falls madly in love with Jonny (Ed Westwick), her boss's son. That doesn't make it any easier. He is beautiful, wealthy… and engaged.

Wonderful film with all the ingredients of a print from the nineties.

Humor, romance, rich & poor, youthful, adventurous, sensitive, healthy jealousy, relaxing, smooth, playful...

And all that in the beautiful snow-capped mountains of a ski resort...

A film that is finished with the young playful Kim - Filicity Jones - who plays the lead role. The youngsters Conny Froboess and Peter Kraus are finished.

Rich man Jonny - Ed Westwick - knows how to fit his lavish role very well and for once knows how to ski against mother's cart. Dad had been in the picture for a long time.

The directing under Phil Traill also contributed to the success of this chalet girl who only went to work but stole many hearts.

And also beautifully performed by the entire cast.

There was definitely a tear at the end.

I don't give a max quickly, but this enjoyable print deserves a remember 5.0*

“What is it with you people walking in on me naked?”

Reasonable rom com. Snow, snowboarding, British accents, Felicity Jones, Sophia Bush... What more could you want? Of course it is all very predictable and the characters outside Kim are very sparsely developed, but fortunately there is enough in return.

Of course Kim is a girl who has a talent for snowboarding but due to a trauma she no longer dares to stand on the slats. And of course she processes this trauma in no time and she also meets a boy she falls in love with, what's new? But Jones is a sparkling appearance and still makes this little thing pleasant. Plus the wonderful winter landscape of course. Chalet Girl is a nothing to worry about movie that's so sweet it'll make your teeth hurt.

Two years after Kim Matthews [Felicity Jones] gave up a bright future as a top skateboarder to take care of her father [Bill Bailey] and deal with the death of her mother, she has the opportunity to make some big money in a short time when an employment agency hires her to work in Austria for four months as a 'Chalet Girl'. There she befriends colleagues Georgie [Tamsin Egerton] and Jules [Georgia King] and she clicks with Jonny [Ed Westwick], the eldest son of chalet owner Richard [Bill Nighy]. In addition, she gets to know Finnish snowboarder Mikki [Ken Duken] and is persuaded to participate in a snowboarding competition that will not only earn her a lot of money, but also come to terms with her past. The screenplay isn't anything to write home about, but three years before her breakthrough in The Theory of Everything, Jones demonstrates the charisma and talent of an aspiring movie star. Bailey is disarming as the clumsy father and Egerton is fine as Kim's new girlfriend, but Westwick is so drab that the romantic subplot doesn't come through at all. Snowboarding legend Tara Dakides plays herself in a small but crucial role.
