Bill and Ted are murdered by evil robot doppelgängers, who hail from the future, where they have been sent by the evil DiNomolos. The boys must now escape Hell, challenge the Grim Reaper, meet God, and defeat the evil Bill and Ted.

In preparation for Face the Music I started a revision of the first 2 films. While part 1 was still very nice, after reviewing part 2 I immediately remember why I had only seen it once.
It wasn't good.
Fast forward to part 3!

Mediocre film in which the two best friends have to deal with a robot duo who look exactly like them. Mainly because of the history lesson, the previous part was a bit better. It's all pretty ridiculous, but also a bit bland and at some point you've seen it anyway. Nice sets, make-up and special effects.

Excellent follow-up and fortunately not a simple repetition exercise. Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey is more absurd and insane than its predecessor. A little less accessible perhaps, but that makes it even more interesting. Scenes with a possessed Easter bunny and nasty granny stick with me, but the star of the show has to be William Sadler as the Grim Reaper; a very nice addition. While the real highlight of the film for me is Hal Landon Jr.'s superb Keanu Reeves impersonation. is. Although Bill and Ted themselves are far from the most comical duo of all time and the script is not very sharp, the creativity regularly splashes off the screen. Underpants fun doesn't get much more interesting.
3.5 stars.
