"There's method in his madness"
Enrico Oliveri, leader of the largest opposition party, is depressed. It is almost time for elections and the polls indicate that they will not turn out in his favor. He can't handle the situation and runs away. The party manages to keep it quiet and Nestor Andrea Bottini asks Enrico's twin brother Giovanni to secretly take his place. Despite the fact that Giovanni looks exactly like his brother, he has a completely different view of life and politics.

Reasonable tragicomedy about a politician who is replaced by his brother. However, this is rarely worked out because you cannot just take over someone's life and work. Movsin says it well because a politician can talk a lot and his words are an empty shell without content. I was quite impressed with his speech. I also thought the soundtrack had something to be honest, it's simple but it sticks. I'm referring to the song with which the film ends. It is not a very long film, so all in all, the long-windedness is not too bad, despite the fact that politics really doesn't interest me. Fine, but probably also for the enthusiast. Don't expect this to make you laugh a lot but it's relatively interesting in a way. Nevertheless, certain subplots remain rather underexposed.

Not a bad movie in itself. Obviously already performed several times, but this film in which 2 opposites are replaced by each other is quite a nice starting point. Of course you can always ask yourself about the feasibility and the dose of realism in such plots, maja. The person who makes the film succeed and takes it to a slightly higher level is Toni Servillo anyway, a wonderful role that is excellently performed. Toni Servillo enjoys it and that only benefits the film.
Furthermore, a nice satirical dragon to how politicians are sometimes unworldly and things sometimes feel completely wrong with their sometimes endless drivel. Despite some nice moments here and there, this is anything but a comedy. Light satire, but nothing more than that.

The campaign for the upcoming election is so disastrous for Italian opposition leader Enrico Oliveri [Toni Servillo] that he decides to squeak out. While hiding with Danielle [Valeria Bruni Tedeschi] who works for Enrico's favorite director [Eric Nguyen], his assistant [Valerio Mastandrea] makes a desperate decision by enlisting Enrico's twin brother Giovanni [Toni Servillo] as Enrico's stand-in. But Giovanni has had no contact with his brother for 25 years and is also in an institution. Anyone who still remembers Dave (1993) already knows how it goes on. It's not very original, but Servillo's fun playing and convincing double role makes up for it.
