Vingt Dieux plot

18-year-old Totone spends most of his time drinking beer and partying in the Jura with his group of friends. But reality catches up with him: he has to take care of his 7-year-old sister and find a way to earn a living. After his father dies in a drunk driving accident, Totone [Clément Faveau] is left to his own devices to care for his seven-year-old sister [Luna Garret]. Since he only knows a little about cheese making, he decides to focus on this craft, but (you can sense it) he doesn't know much about it. This seemingly comic drama follows Totone during his clumsy first steps in the world of cheese making, during which he opportunistically also becomes involved with Marie-Lise [Maïwene Barthelemy], who lives on a farm where prize-winning cheeses are made. There is just as little personal development as there is chemistry between Faveau and Barthelemy. What is much more problematic is that Courvoisier gives us little reason to have any sympathy for the main character. The story is incoherent and the finale during a stock car race seems to come from a completely different film. The only plus is Garret who is endearing as the sister and the extensive attention to making cheese in an artisanal way. If you like that at least.
