Boy with mental health problems meets girl with mental health problems.

Pat (Bradley Cooper) especially struggles with impulse control. He blurts out inappropriate comments and can't control his aggression during a tantrum. He's conditioned to get aggressive with the yet lovely My Cherie Amour and sometimes hears that song when it's not there. His habit of jogging in a garbage bag is nonsensical, because it doesn't help burn more fat.

He inherited his aggression control problem from his father (Robert De Niro). This one usually talks about football, because he finds it difficult to handle conversations on more serious topics. When it comes to such a conversation, he starts to cry - a spontaneous initiative by De Niro during yet another take.

Whatever problems Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) has, a lack of assertiveness is not one of them. She is the one who takes the initiative. Although she hates football, she memorizes the necessary data to get on the good side of the superstitious father.

The dance scenes were well rehearsed and beautifully choreographed. Dancing as a therapy can work better than taking pills, because Pat and Tiffany have a goal in mind and find each other at the same time.

This is based on Matthew Quick's debut novel. He struggled with depression and his father was obsessed with the Philadelphia Eagles. In the book, the main character is named Pat Peoples and no diagnosis is mentioned.

The camera circles Bradley Cooper three times: first around him alone, then as they circle themselves during a dance rehearsal, and then during a kiss - reminiscent of Vertigo.

During the credits, I would have preferred to have heard the full song by Jessie J.

A children's film for adults.

That's how Silver Linings Playbook feels too much. Sympathetic underdogs work towards a (double!) climax, you can feel the plot points coming from afar, but hey, they won't let themselves be knocked down! And so, step by step, we are getting closer to a predictable end.

So what keeps things straight? The actors. Jennifer Lawrence carries the film as an elusive figure, Bradley Cooper convinces as a man who obsessively wants to get his life back on track and Robert De Niro plays a bit under his weight in a supporting role, but charms as a father who also knows his limitations. has. We watch a movie for that.

Romantic dramedy about Pat who tries to resume his normal life after psychiatric treatment.

Cinematography not special, especially indoor scenes in the clinic, at home and when going out, outdoor scenes while jogging in the street. Nice movie music. Cast: Bradley Cooper plays his part very convincingly and Jennifer Laurence is also good as his female co-star.

Plot: Pat is released from the psychiatric clinic after 8 months and thinks he can pick up his life again. However, his wife has already picked up a new thread. In his pursuit to become the ideal partner, he meets Tiffany, who has also had setbacks. To participate in a dance competition, she asks Pat as her partner.....

Summary: I watched this movie on the last Netflix day. It was a special film, I don't know Bradley Cooper as an actor, but I thought he played well: the mood swings, the disturbed day-night rhythm, the emotional outbursts, the confusion, his obsession.... I liked the meeting with the damaged Tiffany well chosen, but I did not find the story of the dance competition believable. If the plot had been different there I might have given a higher rating, now just adequate. So I don't quite understand the high rating.

Message: don't try to change yourself for someone else, because every (crooked) pot has a lid .......
