Shirley Valentine plot
"No one thought she had the courage, the nerve, or the lingerie."
Shirley is a middle-aged woman living in Liverpool. Her life has few nice moments anymore, and she has mainly become her husband's domestic help. She muses a lot about what her life could have looked like differently. When her friend wins a trip to Greece, Shirley decides to come along and go on a trip without her husband. Once there, she visibly improves and begins to enjoy life again, not least because of her encounters with a passionate Greek.

Reasonable film about a middle-aged British housewife who gets the chance to go on holiday to Greece. The main character is well portrayed and Pauline Collins is well cast. The breaking of the fourth wall sometimes gets a bit boring and the humour is a bit stale, but otherwise it is a nice film.
