Bud Johnson is an ordinary beer-drinking, bowling, not exactly successful American who doesn't aspire to much in life anymore. His only pride is his bright 12-year-old daughter Molly. She is actually the one who takes care of them both, but due to circumstances she accidentally ensures on Election Day that the decisive vote for the Presidential election belongs to her father.

Watched this one without expectations and it was not that bad. The cast was well chosen, especially that girl played very convincingly. Despite the "political" theme, the film is certainly not boring. You don't have to expect a real comedy now, rather a smile now and then. Of course the film isn't realistic, but it didn't disturb either. The film is fairly moralizing, but this is more towards the end. The ending itself was "surprising" because of the sudden stop, but well chosen.
Well, I thought it was worth watching, but don't expect a pure comedy.

Good film where the voice of only one man ultimately determines who will be the next president of America. The campaign of two candidates is focused on just this one man, and that naturally produces special scenes. Part political satire and part family film. A nice cast and Kevin Costner and the young Madeline Carroll have a nice interaction together.

Madeline Carroll charms you as yet another American kid who mentally competes with adults, but the most striking thing about this film, which is a bit long, is the hilarious way in which politics tackles this unusual situation or, in other words, the political world at its narrowest.
Appropriate ending to the movie.
