Friendly.

A nice variation on the fiction turned reality principle. I already saw some names here, it reminded me mainly of Video Girl Ai (old anime). This film is also a little bit like a harem anime, only without the harem.

In any case, delivered very brightly and smoothly. Two fine actors (just maybe a bit too cliché, lanky), beautiful colors and a pleasant atmosphere. The plot continues as expected and there are no more surprises in the film after the first half hour, but it never really gets boring.

Humor is okay, the romance also works, some nice supporting roles but the film lacks that little bit extra. Thought it got a bit too gloomy after a while, while the film is just running on that frivolous.

But otherwise a nice and cozy movie, for the next one they don't have to wait 6 years in my opinion.

3.0*

Nice writing debut by Elia Kazan's granddaughter Zoe, who is also prominently present in the film with her flaming hair. Quite a nice comedy with an original idea, although I gradually started to get more and more annoyed by Calvin's behavior, but I think that was the intention. Quite entertaining, all the more so because the main and supporting roles are filled in well, but not exactly a film that will stay with you for a long time despite the cool ending.

“I'm not writing about you. I wrote you.”

Original film that casually combines light romance with a deeper message about free will and the almost perverse pursuit of perfection. Because it sounds so beautiful, you fantasize about your dream woman and suddenly she is standing in front of you. Every man's dream, right? And that she herself has no free will (unless you type that on your typewriter) well, it's that easy.

Everyone feels that this situation is not sustainable and eventually Calvin (the again fantastic Paul Dano) finds out too. Because it's actually much more fun when you fall in love with each other of your own free will without imaginative intervention? The intelligent script by Zoe Kazan (here dream woman Ruby) shows this in a beautiful way and the ending is beautifully chosen and above all lifelike.
