You can of course wonder why these people decide to participate in this game if it is plausible that a secret that they are trying to hide will no longer remain a secret. But the closing scene of this very well-directed comedy drama (starting as comedy but turning into drama) suggests that we're dealing with a 'what if' setup here. Seven friends (three couples and one whose partner is home sick) gather for dinner in an apartment from which to admire the upcoming lunar eclipse. There is plenty of laughter until one of them concludes that the mobile phone has become a kind of 'black box' that stores all information about the owner, including his secrets. The friends challenge each other to share every incoming message or phone call with the group during the evening, but that leads to unintended, often painful revelations that put a lot of pressure on the mutual relations.

Although it is a somewhat far-fetched concept and the revelations are a bit melodramatic at times, under the direction of Paolo Genovese (who is partly responsible for the screenplay), the acting of the actors is so natural and the timing of the reactions so sophisticated. , that you can easily get caught up in the emotions of this outer human drama that raises pertinent questions about the role of social media, and not necessarily in a negative way.

In itself a film with a very interesting premise. Obviously some things have to be pulled with the hair and the scenario needs some help, but once you have passed this premise, it is quite a pleasant viewing piece.

It is true that our black mobile box - there are also other colors - does contain some precious if not secret information, information that you may not prefer to share with friends, family or your partner. There are really no secrets on mine, it swings around everywhere, but this aside. Not that everyone knows everything, but I wouldn't care either. The plot of the film ensures that everyone has a secret, crooked shit is a classic and it took a while to see who was the first to fall through the basket. Nothing new in itself, but the advantage of the film was the fact that it was well put together, I was never bored and the acting performances were more than up to standard. The interaction was strong and that juicy Italian was refreshing.

An interesting revelation here and there. That cell phone swap was quite amusing, but cleverly exposed another item that allowed Peppe to perceive what people really think about him. The strongest scene was the telephone conversation with the daughter: honest, sincere, but also painful for the mother. Those condoms eg are one of those confronting little unimportant secrets (but understandable within the context).

I thought the ending was bizarre, but I try to put it under the guise that it's okay to have secrets - as long as your life isn't strung together with lies. There is also a nuance between a lie and a secret (depending on the theme) and also to whom. It's not black and white at all, nice to think about!

Very entertaining. I was quite disappointed when the incredibility exploded halfway through, but luckily the beautiful ending blows that problem out of the screen. A little more variety would have done the film well and it could have been a bit more subtle here and there, but oh well.

Laughed a lot at Lele's reaction(s) to that whole gay swapping trick.

Ennuh.... what a beautiful woman, that Katarzyna Smutniak. I would almost give it an extra star.

I see from the comments of quite a few users that they did not understand the ending. That is essential to properly appreciate the film.

4*
