Nusumareta Yokujô plot
Osamu has a university degree, but works as a director for a popular Kabuki company. His friend urges him to pursue a career in television, but Osamu feels an aversion to modern, post-war Japan. The farcical company cannot survive in Osaka and decides to try it in the countryside. The company is successful fairly quickly, but is not interested in Osamu's artistic aspirations, who is always in doubt whether he should leave them after all. His situation is complicated by the fact that he is in love with a married woman and that a younger girl is in love with him.
