Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters plot
"Where There Are Gods, There Are Monsters."
Percy and his friends Grover, Annabeth and Tyson, must retrieve the Golden Fleece from the island of the Cyclopes. They must succeed before the end of the summer otherwise the Half-Blood camp will be destroyed. But first, Percy discovers a startling secret about his family. A secret that makes him question whether it's an honor or just a cruel joke to be Poseidon's son.

Fine.
I think I need to see part 1 again. Fortunately, I was able to follow it all just fine, because everything you need to know is already said at the beginning. Because of this, I already knew more or less what exactly I had missed.
Lerman does a pretty good job as Percy Jackson. The effects are from woodsy to quite ok. The story is interesting to follow, and there is clearly enough spectacle to keep you interested. Some scenes in particular stand out, Charybdis for example, but also the giant demon in the end with the amusement park.
Ultimately, the film is quite entertaining, enough happened. Too bad about the often somewhat wooden effects and not too good acting by the people around Lerman. Best recommended for a smooth and entertaining Fantasy film.
