Reasonable film with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Maximum Risk has plenty of action and the actors know exactly what kind of movie they're in. Some of the actors gleefully smile, and Henstridge is a beauty. Van Damme himself is his wooden self again, but that's why we all love him so much. Coal English, tense muscles and kick the bad guys over. The man knows what we expect from him.

Mediocre film in which a cop finds out he has an identical twin brother just after his death. In itself a nice starting point, but in the end too little is done with it. What follows is a standard action movie in which the plot quickly loses interest. Still a few nice action scenes (especially towards the end), but all seen before and especially better.

The opening scene is action packed, the sequel is action packed, still halfway through and unchanged towards the end. In short, a real JCVD film!
Besides the chases and the fighting, with slightly less kicks than usual, there is also quite a nice story in this film.
Typical 90's film in terms of setting, action, pursuit and acting, you have to love that, but also judge it to that time.
